Troop 373 Events Back to the listBSA Summer Camp at Camp Alexander, July 2006Twenty three Scouts or about one third of the Troop attended Summer Camp at Pike Peak Council's Camp Alexander. Located near Lake George Colorado 40 miles west of Colorado Springs it has an elevation of 8200 feet above sea level. It has a heated pool with temperatures set at 80 degrees. Surrounded by National Forest land makes this camp a wildlife wonderland. Deer and several Foxes were spotted the first day at Camp. Lots of the newer Scouts are attending the First Class Center and working on their rank advancements. Lots of Merit Badges are being offered and our Scouts are working on many of them. Some of the older Scouts are participating in the Outback adventure program. Wednesday the Troop had to cook their own meals in their "Navajo" campsite and spaghetti and meat sauce is on the menu. Another Troop from Oklahoma is sharing our campsite and stories have been swapped between the adult leaders. The big white canvas tent has provided some shelter from the rainstorms and is craft central for lanyard and hemp rope knot tying jewelry. Lots of evening programs during the week made it a memorable experience.
