Troop Auto Mechanics Merit Badge Class, March 2009

Mr. Hemenway held the first annual Auto Mechanics Merit Badge Class at his house on a beautiful Saturday in March 2009.  The Scouts were able to understand the internal workings of a car engine that Mr. Hemenway mounted on a cart and had it functional by use of a wrench crank.  The moving pistons were fun to watch.  The class also covered general car maintenance including changing the oil and tires.  What a wonderful opportunity for the Scouts to see some classic cars and ask questions to a car expert.  Mr. Hemenway previously operated an automotive body shop.  Thank you for volunteering to share your car knowledge and teach this Auto Mechanics Merit Badge to our Troop.
