Northern Tiers High Adventure Canoeing  Bissett, Canada -  July/August 2009

Boy Scouts High Adventure Canoeing Trek in Bissett, Canada.  This 75 mile rugged canoe trek was high adventure for the Scouts and adults of Troop 373.  This was the fourth time the Troop has gone to the most remote of the three Northern Tiers Bases.  This adventure starts with a 30 mile float plane ride to the remote lake where the 75 trek begins and ends.  Located in Manitoba, Canada this location is so remote that you rarely see other crews while on your canoeing trip.  Fishing is amazing and the Northern Pikes are huge and the Walleye are delicious.  Portages can be very challenging but the scenery is so beautiful.  Drinking water that is always brown in color takes a little getting used to.
